Phase I starting to gel

Phase 1 of Clover Creek Commons will remove invasive plants, mark out the riparian zone, plant native grasses, flowers, bushes and trees along the creek and the area to the west of the creek.

On April 19, Clover Creek Restoration Alliance came out for an Earth Day cleanup. Eleven people participated and gathered a considerable amount of trash and removed some poison hemlock that is growing all over the property. The Japanese knotweed is trying to sprout in several places again as well.

Pierce County Surface Water Management’s maintenance department was called to collect the trash and remove it. They also mowed the property a couple days later, to cut back the growing invasive poison hemlock.
