Pierce County Maintenance sprayed the Poison Hemlock and it is looking brown and dead. Currently, we are waiting for feedback from the County and Noxious Weed Board for the long term plan for the Poison Hemlock.
In the meantime, Clover Creek Restoration Alliance (CCRA) is ready to do a June cleanup, just waiting for a go ahead to pull out the dead PH plants.
A request has been placed for County Maintenance to mow the property. The Vetch is getting tall and the blackberry is starting to get leggy too.

The Chambers Clover Watershed Council (CCWC), CCRA, and Pierce Conservation District (PCD) have been talking about planning an asphalt removal project on Clover Creek east of Pacific Avenue to B Street. That would be big and fairly costly, so that will not occur right away. They just want some planning to begin to get more of the asphalt out of the creek.
The bridge was just put across the creek at the Parkland Prairie. There is still a lot of construction on the bridge and the Parkland Trail, but having that crossing present feels like progress.

Stay tuned…
